The early bird gets the worm!
So this morning I went to The Cakery in SLO to get breakfast and the sign said the soup of the day was Artichoke Bisque (my favorite). I was excited and asked for a bowl but unfortunately the sign was from last week and they hadn't made any soup yet. I then asked what the soup of the day was going to be and the girl said that they hadn't decided yet so they would make whatever I would like. Of course I chose Artichoke Bisque, and I just got back from enjoying my favorite soup for lunch! It pays to be one of the few people up early and working after the holidays!

WeeMee
Eerie - it does kinda look like me. Check out WeeWorld to make your own WeeMee online. Ok I must stop procrastinating now and get back to work!
(I doubt Ben will blog about this so I'll post the one he made!)

I Scream at Ice Cream
Literally! After four weeks of daily ice cream sampling and judging for a sensory project, I think I will be sick if I see any type of ice cream right now. Going into this project I was excited (it's better that the buttermilk panel two years ago - yuck!) and never thought the sight of ice cream would actually repulse me!

You learn something new everyday...
Yesterday Ben showed a side of himself I had never really seen before - the I am obsessed with electronics! We traded in our points we had earned using the Citi Rewards Card (LOVE the card) for a $1000 Best Buy gift card, which we decided to use to purchase a new TV and DVD Player for the bedroom. Ben was SO excited and insisted on setting everything up last night when we got home at 11pm. This typical guy behavior I never knew my boyfriend had is very cute!

Life of a student scientist
Hehehe...welcome to my world. Currently my notebook is filled with procedures/protocols/results from the beginning of July written on brown paper towels, so alas I am not doing much at work besides getting all of the important info off of the paper towels and into the notebook. Check out Promega for more geeky biology jokes.

Worth A Thousand Words
Congrats to my sister Emily who had two digital art pieces on display at the Morro Bay Art Association last week! (In my above very non-artsy photo, her work is the bottom two pieces.)
