Love at First Sight

It's our little 8-year anniversary of first meeting. The story goes that my dorm friends (Crystal and Kat) were planning on hanging out with their friends at the SigEp House one Saturday night. I had no other plans, so I decided to go with them. Most of the guys were off at an event, but I met roommates Ben and Scott. Ben was sawing bricks for the courtyard project he was working on (construction - surprise, surprise!) and I chatted with him for awhile. I guess Ben thought I was cute (I did get dressed up thinking it was going to be a frat party) because he pestered Crystal to set us up and was very diligent about calling me. I think you can figure out how the story ends!

Speaking of history - it has been exactly two months since we got hitched! All the pictures will be posted later this week, but my sister has a few up on her site.

Happy Earth Day!

It's environmentally-friendly baby steps for Ben and I!

Ben is currently doing his little part to help the planet by taking the train roundtrip from Aberdeen to Inverness instead of driving. He says I inspired him after I wouldn't stop talking about how wonderful the European train system is (I fell in love with it while I was over there). As for me, I finally gave up my Aquafina addiction and have switched to tap water. Unfortunately, it appears the bottle I use has been recalled so I'm on the search for a new one!

Gossip Girl Here

From a previous post, you know my guilty pleasure of watching trashy, girly TV. A good friend (who use to work with me and shared in my passion) and I would discuss the previous nights dirt everyday while we worked in the lab. It would just make the time fly by and I do really miss our discussions! Thinking back, I watched and discussed Rich Girls (remember that show?), Gilmore Girls, Laguna Beach (not the last season - boring!), My Super Sweet 16, and The Hills (I'm quickly losing interest - Heidi and Spencer are totally fake and lame) to name a few. And my newest guilty pleasure ... Gossip Girl! Ben says it melts your brain (which he said about all the other shows as well) but I can't help it - I love the show (the clothes ... the lifestyle ... everything!). TiVo was great to me and recorded all the episodes while I was in Europe, so I am all caught up on the drama and excited for the new season!

So if you want to melt your brain with me, the start of the new season is tonight on the CW network at 8pm PST! XOXO Andrea

I Heart My Dad

My Dad is so cute! He recently got a Gmail account (my parents have been AOL users for 10 years now), and so we have been chatting on GoogleTalk during the day while we both are at work. He liked my picture icon (my WeeMee) and so created one of his own! It looks so much like him, I love it!

Spring Has Sprung

The weather has been very warm for April the last few days! Since I am stuck inside all day for my job, I didn't want to sit inside all weekend sorting through thousands of pictures from the trip (sorry!), so I went up to the Bay Area and enjoyed the outdoors. Zaclyn hosted a cupcake tasting party and made the smart decision to move it from her apartment to the park at Lake Merritt. The weather was absolutely perfect for sitting in the shade and eating some tasty cupcakes!

Fair Time

FYI - Mid-State Fair tickets go on sale Friday, April 25th at 10am! I am planning on seeing John Mayer (Wednesday, July 23rd) and the Stone Temple Pilots (Saturday, July 26th) if anyone is interested in coming with me!

*Also - I heard a rumor that Downtown Centre Cinemas is having a sneak peak of Forgetting Sarah Marshall tonight at 8pm for FREE!*

We're Back!

After traveling for 51 hours (due to missing a flight connection in Dubai and being forced a 12 hour layover), Ben and I arrived back from beautiful Maldives at 8pm last night and went right to sleep as we both had to be at work today. Hopefully I can organize and post all pictures this weekend, but here is one of the villa we stayed in...
